Creative Ways To Celebrate Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day will be here soon and, oh no, you still have to figure out how you’ll be celebrating on campus this year! Don’t worry, the Kappa Sigma Official Store has got you covered with a few ideas that won’t break the bank.

If you’re celebrating with your girlfriend:

Idea 1: Put together a little gift basket and plan a night in! We recommend picking up some new Kappa Sigma sweetheart merch , like this cool hoodie , and adding a few other fun things like some fuzzy socks or a new cozy blanket. Throw in some chocolate, wrap it up in a nice box, and you’ve got one seriously impressed girlfriend! Now all you have to do is pick out a movie you know she’s been dying to see, get her favorite food delivered, and settle in for the night.

Idea 2: If you have the luxury of having a kitchen in your fraternity house, apartment, or dorm then spice up your normal routine with a homemade dinner! We love this hands-on date night because you can both get involved, and it is absolutely delicious. Need ideas on what to make? We love the idea of a homemade pizza night! All you have to do is pick up pizza dough, sauce, cheese and whatever toppings you like and then get to work.

Want to seriously impress her? Three words: homemade pizza dough. It is way better than the store bought stuff and shows her that you have the patience and skill to make something completely from scratch.

If want to keep it light and casual:

Idea 1: We recommend going out and doing something active with your date! Rather than sitting inside a dimly lit restaurant that may send the wrong message, we think working out and getting those endorphins pumping will lead to the casual, but still fun, date that you’re after.

A lot of campuses and college towns will have group workout classes that you can sign up for, basketball courts you can rent out, or maybe you take this as an opportunity to try something new like rock climbing or a high ropes course. Bonus, you can wear your favorite Kappa Sig Comfort Colors tee without it looking like you’re being lazy.

Idea 2: Make it a coffee shop date! The beauty of a coffee shop date is that they can take place anytime during the day which automatically makes the mood a lot lighter and keeps everything casual.

College towns have the best coffee shops around (because how could you survive college without caffeine?) so take advantage of it! If you already have a favorite coffee shop then take her there - you will have drink recommendations which are always fun to hear and you’ll feel more comfortable. If you don’t have a favorite coffee shop then do a little research (thank you, Yelp) and find one that fits the vibe you’re going for.

If you don’t have any plans this year:

Hang out with your Kappa Sig brothers and make a day of it! Plan an outing that everybody will enjoy like cheering your team on in a basketball game, planning a mini indoor volleyball tournament, or just grabbing a bite at your favorite restaurant. A chance to get the brothers together is never a bad idea and this is the perfect excuse.
